Typical Peers Information Page

Dear Parents:

William V. Wright Elementary School is pleased to announce an opportunity for preschool children within our community, ages three, four, and five (must not be enrolled in Kindergarten). Your child must turn three before the first day of the 2023-2024 school year. This unique experience will provide preschool instruction for your child and will include them in a learning environment with students ages 3-5 with disabilities. This opportunity will enable your child to receive valuable age-appropriate instruction, as well as  provide the students with disabilities age-appropriate role models.

We are looking for children who have age-appropriate language and exceptional behavior. The children must be toilet trained and must demonstrate that they are able to be away from home for a day without duress. Parents will be required to transport their child to and from school and must ensure that consistent attendance occurs with the exception of illness.

First day of school will be August 7, 2023. The program is half-day, four days a week, am or pm session. Once a month we will have a family day. At this time, we do not anticipate virtual classes or wearing a mask. There will be one teacher and one teaching assistant. Enrollment is limited, in an effort to maintain an appropriate class size. If you are interested in your child participating in this learning experience, please complete the Google form which can be found on the school website No later than April 28th. Please note the entire form must be completed for your child to be considered. You will receive notification regarding your child’s acceptance into the program, via email by May 8th.

Thank you in advance for your interest. Please feel free to contact Ms. Akers at Akersam@nv.ccsd.net if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Maribel McAdory
